Abstract: a blood transfer device is disclosed. the blood transfer device includes a pipette comprising a bulb portion, wherein the bulb portion comprises a compressible wall and an aperture extending through the compressible wall and an end portion opposite the bulb portion, wherein the end portion comprises an insertion portion, and wherein the end portion is in fluid communication with the bulb portion. the blood transfer device further includes a capillary tube, wherein the capillary tube is positioned at least partially within the end portion and extends at least partially beyond the insertion portion.
