ELONGATED COMPOSITE FOR AN IMPLANT

Abstract: an elongated composite for an implant comprising: one or more composite elements includes a core region including a plurality of fibrous bundles, which are preferably braided, woven, bound, interlaced and/or interlocked by bias fiber elements, and a polymerizable material or polymeric material which fills gaps between the fibrous bundles; and a covering over the one or more composite elements. the elongated composite and composite elements have a longitudinal axis and the fibrous bundles include a plurality of filaments that are twisted along the longitudinal axis and a polymeric/polymerizable matrix.
