Abstract: this invention relates to dry compositions and methods for forming stable liquid personal cleansing formulations. the dry composition of the present invention comprises 30 to 90 wt % of surfactant; 1 to 6 wt % of chelating agent; 0.5 to 20 wt % preservative; and cellulosic polymer, wherein at least 50 wt % of the cellulosic polymer has degree of substitution higher than 0.7.
