Abstract: the present invention is directed to a transparent hair care composition comprising a substituted 2-pyridinol-n-oxide material; a glycol; a non-ionic surfactant; a monocarboxylic acid or polyprotic acid; water or an aqueous carrier; wherein the composition has a ph from about 3.5 to about 6.0; and wherein the composition is free of alcohol.
