Abstract: the devices and methods disclosed herein relate to providing an accurate and direct measure of vessel distensibility. these direct measures can also simultaneously record invasive pressures and provide a precise pwv calculation. the disclosed devices include a catheter that is easily inserted under fluoroscopic guidance through the femoral or radial artery. the disclosed devices enable physicians to diagnose aortic stiffness and to provide a direct measure of aortic compliance.
