METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING VALUES OF METABOLIC PARAMETERS OF A USER WHEN PERFORMING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ON AN EXERCISE MACHINE

Abstract: a method for determining values of metabolic parameters of a user when performing physical activity on an exercise machine, comprises: acquiring a thermographic image of at least one portion of the body of the user when performing physical activity, identifying, within the acquired at least one thermographic image, a first thermographic portion of the body surface of the user; for said identified first thermographic portion, determining at least one group of thermal features representative of the identified first thermographic portion; estimating by executing a respective estimation algorithm based on a trained regression model, and providing values of metabolic parameters of the user when performing physical activity based on said at least one determined group of thermal features representative of said identified first thermographic portion, the values of metabolic parameters of the user comprising at least one of: value of oxygen volume; value of carbon dioxide volume; value of respiratory quotient.
