Abstract: an image forming apparatus includes a unit that is attachable and detachable with respect to a main body frame, and a lock mechanism. the lock mechanism includes a handle portion, a lock member that is swingably disposed on the unit and has a hook portion engageable with an engaged portion formed on the main body frame, and a first biasing member that biases the lock member in a first direction in which the hook portion engages with the engaged portion. due to the handle portion being moved in the detaching direction, the lock member is caused to swing against a biasing force of the first biasing member in a second direction opposite to the first direction so as to release engagement between the hook portion and the engaged portion. the lock member includes a restraint portion that restrains swinging of the lock member.
