Abstract: modified regenerated collagen fibers which have improved water resistance and heat resistance problematic in regenerated collagen fibers, impart heat shape memory ability, are excellent in stretchability (tenacity) and the feel of the surfaces, and have no coloring. the modified regenerated collagen fibers contain a component (a), which is vinylbenzoic acid or a salt thereof, or a polymerized product containing the component (a) as a constituent monomer in the regenerated collagen fibers.
