Abstract: the present disclosure relates to a method that includes hydrolyzing a polyamide by contacting the polyamide with a hydrolase. in some embodiments of the present disclosure, the polyamide may include nylon-6, nylon 6,6, or a combination thereof. in some embodiments of the present disclosure, the hydrolyzing may produce aminohexanoic acid, an oligomer of aminohexanoic acid, �-caprolactam, or combinations thereof.
