Abstract: a method including the initiation of a state transition from a first state of a plurality of states to a second state of the plurality of states based on a message uniquely associated with the second state, the processing of a handshake protocol associated with the second state in response to the initiation of the state transition from the first state to the second state, and the causation of one or more vehicles to revert to the first state in response to an unsuccessful completion of the handshake protocol associated with the second state.
