Abstract: an apparatus for transversally cutting a tubular body of thickness (t) comprises a base frame on which two parallel cylinders are mounted horizontally and arranged to be rotatably actuated in a same rotation direction, thus forming a cradle arranged to support and to rotate the tubular body. a cutting head is arranged above the cradle, including a movable support that is arranged to be brought closer to or further away from the cradle, and that supports a rotatable circular blade arranged to cut the thickness (t) of the rotatable tubular body while being brought closer to the cradle. in order to stabilise the tubular body on the cradle, an idler accompanying or positioning roller is arranged between the cradle and the rotation axis of the blade.
