Abstract: a belt sander includes a motor driven by power supplied from a battery, a battery mounting portion to which the battery is removably mountable, and a belt driving portion including (i) a drive roller to be rotated by a driving force of the motor, (ii) a driven roller, and (iii) a belt that is stretched over the drive roller and the driven roller and has a polishing surface that polishes a workpiece. the belt sander is provided with a housing including a motor housing portion housing the motor, and with a handle disposed to surround at least a part of the battery mounted to the battery mounting portion.
