Abstract: the present disclosure relates to methods and devices for reducing congestion of the respiratory system by applying diathermy, including radiofrequency (rf) energy, and ultrasound energy, to increase the temperature of mucus. this controlled heating reduces mucus viscosity and elasticity, facilitating mucus clearance and improving respiratory function. embodiments of a device including a wand, a mask, and a vest are also described herein.
