Abstract: a medical device is configured to obtain an impedance measurement and determine that a medical lead received by a connector bore of the medical device is either an integrated bipolar lead or a true bipolar lead based on the impedance measurement. the medical device is configured to select at least one operating parameter setting based on the determined medical lead type and process a cardiac electrical signal received via the medical lead according to the at least one operating parameter setting for determining a need for an electrical stimulation therapy.
