Abstract: the present invention relates to a cosmetic composition having a skin depigmenting effect which includes, as active ingredient, a combination of apigenin and phloretin, wherein the two components of said combination act synergistically. the invention also relates to the use of the combination of apigenin and phloretin contained in a cosmetic composition for preventing and treating diseases and conditions related to the overproduction or uneven distribution of melanin, wherein said use comprises topically administering an effective quantity of said combination to a patient who needs it, having a synergistic effect.
