Abstract: an inhalation device that generates an aerosol from a base material including an aerosol source, includes: a heating unit configured to heat the base material to generate the aerosol; and a control unit configured to control an operation of the inhalation device. the control unit is configured to perform: first heating control for controlling a temperature of the heating unit with a temperature lower than a lowest temperature at which the aerosol is generated being set as a target temperature, and second heating control for controlling the temperature of the heating unit with a temperature higher than the lowest temperature being set as the target temperature. the first heating control is performed when authentication processing related to availability of the inhalation device is being performed, and the first heating control is ended and the second heating control is performed when the authentication processing is completed.
