Abstract: a method performed on a first apparatus including obtaining a first piece of information from a second apparatus. the first piece of information is associated with the second apparatus. authenticating the second apparatus based on at least the first piece of information. generating a second piece of information. a third apparatus different from the second apparatus or a user of the third apparatus can gain access to one or more compartments of a compartment system using the second piece of information. outputting the second piece of information. a positive result of the authentication of the second apparatus is a necessary condition for outputting the second piece of information. three associated methods, one performed on the second apparatus, one on the third apparatus and one on the compartment system in a system having the first, second and third apparatus. corresponding apparatuses, systems and computer programs for disclosed methods are disclosed.
