Abstract: the present invention provides a shock-absorbing material with which progressive crushing can be realized with a simple structure, and which absorbs a large amount of energy. the shock-absorbing material has a cylindrical body and a plate-form member attached to an end surface of the cylindrical body. the cylindrical body contains a laminate of fiber-reinforced resin layers including a plurality of reinforcing fibers aligned in one direction and a resin impregnated in the plurality of reinforcing fibers, the cylindrical body has a buckling-minimizing layer and a fragile layer, and the plate-form member is attached to the cylindrical body via an adhesive layer.
