Abstract: provided is a recording device which includes first and second output units outputting first and second drive signals for driving a piezoelectric element, first and second switches switching on or off the input of the first and second drive signals to the piezoelectric element, a selection output unit outputting selection information indicating which of the first and second drive signals is to be input to the piezoelectric element based on image data, and a control output unit outputting a switch control signal for controlling on and off of the first and second switches based on the selection information and a timing signal, wherein the switch control signal is a control signal for turning off the first and second switches during a predetermined period including a switching timing defined by the timing signal.
