SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING A POSE OF A COCHLEAR IMPLANT
Abstract: disclosed herein is a system for analyzing data extracted from an instrumented cochlear implant, wherein the electrode array portion of the implant is provided with a microfabricated thin-film sensing array comprising one or more sensors to detect various features of the electrode array during insertion and to provide feedback to the surgeon during implantation. preferred embodiments of the system utilize one or more trained machine learning models to extract features from the raw data received from the sensing array and can perform a pose estimation of the electrode array and recommend next surgical actions to increase the probability of a positive clinical outcome.
