MECHANICALLY EXPANDABLE PROSTHETIC DEVICE
Abstract: a prosthetic valve can include a radially expandable and compressible frame having a plurality of struts forming a plurality of cells, and a valvular structure mounted within the frame. the valvular structure can comprise a plurality of leaflets each having an inflow end portion and an outflow end portion, adjacent leaflets being connected to each other at the outflow end portions to form commissures of the valvular structure. a first subset of struts of the plurality of struts can be angled struts and a second subset of struts of the plurality of struts can be axial struts that extend in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis. one or more of the axial struts can include a first, straight portion having a constant cross-sectional profile and a second, rhombus-shaped portion connected end-to-end with the straight portion.
