Abstract: aspects relate to outputting a training field signal and/or obtaining a training field signal over multiple radio frequency (rf) sub-bands. for example, a carrier bandwidth used by a first apparatus to transmit packets may include several rf sub-bands. the first apparatus may use two or more of these rf sub-bands to transmit a training field signal. in some examples, the first apparatus may repeat the same training field signal over multiple rf sub-bands. in some examples, the second apparatus may combine the training field signal sent over the multiple rf sub-bands.
