DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF METRICS IN A WIRELESS NETWORK WITH MULTIPLE ACCESS POINTS

Abstract: to predict a first metric for a station in a wireless network, at least one hardware processor in a prediction device or at least one hardware processor in a first access point associated with the station, determines that a recent measurement of a second metric correlated with the first metric has hanged compared to a previous measurement of the second metric, the second metric for the station and measured by the first access point; and in case the second metric has changed, prediction of the first metric for the station is triggered. the first metric can be a signal strength of a signal received by the station from a second access point not associated with the station and the second metric a signal strength of a signal received by the first access point from the station.
