Abstract: a battery cell includes an electrode assembly. the electrode assembly includes: a negative electrode plate, including a negative current collector and a negative active material layer; and a positive electrode plate, including a positive current collector and a positive active material layer. a positive tab extends out from a first edge of the positive electrode body. the positive active material layer is disposed on a surface of the positive electrode body. along a thickness direction of the negative electrode body, a projection of the positive active material layer on the negative electrode plate falls in the negative active material layer. the negative electrode plate further includes a first insulation layer. along the thickness direction of the negative electrode body, a projection of the first edge on the negative electrode plate falls in the first insulation layer.
