Abstract: in an aspect, the disclosure relates to a battery cell, comprising: a housing; an electrode material; a current collector; and an interface component; and wherein the housing comprises the electrode material, at least a portion of the current collector and the interface component; wherein the current collector comprises a first connection portion connected to the electrode material and a second connection portion connectable to a battery terminal; wherein the interface component is arranged between the current collector and the housing; wherein the interface component is in contact with the current collector and the housing; wherein the interface component is configured for electrically insulating the housing from the current collector; and wherein the interface component comprises an interface material having a thermal conductivity of at least 1 w/(m*k).
