Abstract: a secondary battery includes a case having an opening formed at least at one end thereof; an electrode assembly accommodated in the case; a current collector electrically connected to the electrode assembly; a cap plate in the opening of the case; a retainer between the electrode assembly and the case; and a pressurizing member configured to apply pressure to the case from the retainer.
