Abstract: a data processing apparatus is provided. decode circuitry decodes an instruction in a stream of instructions as a conditional branch instruction. prediction circuitry performs a prediction of the conditional branch instruction in respect of a flow of the stream of instructions. training circuitry receives and stores data associated with one or more executions of the conditional branch instruction. generation circuitry generates the prediction based on the data and filter circuitry performs filtering to disregard a subset of the data, in dependence on whether the prediction is that the conditional branch instruction is of a specific type.
