Abstract: an image forming system includes an image forming apparatus that receives a print job including number-of-prints information, print size information, and print date-and-time information, and an acquisition unit that acquires the number-of-prints information, the size information, the date-and-time information, and capacity information indicating the maximum number of sheets to be accommodated in the accommodating portion, a determination unit that obtains, based on the information acquired by the acquisition unit, a number of print jobs in which the number of prints exceeds the maximum number of sheets to be accommodated, out of a plurality of the print jobs received by the image forming apparatus during a predetermined period, to determine whether the number is greater than a predetermined threshold, and a notification unit that notifies a content about an addition of a new accommodating portion if the determination unit determines that the number exceeds the predetermined threshold.
