Abstract: an optical element has a light guide made of a light-transmitting material. the light guide has an incident portion where an external light enters, an exit portion which includes a surface where light incident from the incident portion first reaches, in which a protruding prism portion and a flat surface are arranged alternately, and a smooth surface opposite to the exit portion as parallel to the flat surface. the exit portion and the smooth surface are opposite to each other in an x direction. the light guide further has a reinforcing portion that protrudes or is recessed in the x direction from the flat surface or the smooth surface.
