Abstract: imaging systems are related systems and methods are disclosed. in accordance with a first implementation, an apparatus includes or comprises a system that includes or comprises a flow cell interface to receive a flow cell cartridge assembly; and an imaging system. the imaging system includes or comprises an imaging device; an optical assembly; a housing carrying the imaging device and the optical assembly; a stage assembly coupled to the housing and comprising an x-stage and a y-stage; and a light source assembly to emit a beam that is received by the optical assembly. the stage assembly moves the housing relative to the flow cell interface to allow the imaging device to obtain image data from the flow cell cartridge assembly.
