Abstract: an initiator includes a pair of electrodes, an insulating member interposed between the pair of electrodes, a cover body covering one end side of the pair of electrodes together with a space around the pair of electrodes, and an explosive with which the space inside the cover body is filled. the pair of electrodes include, in the space, a discharge gap where a dielectric strength is lower than a dielectric strength of a portion where the insulating member is interposed. in this way, provided is a technology that enables ignition without a bridge wire and facilitates manufacture of an initiator.
