Abstract: a method for recording on a fabric that includes attaching a droplet of a treatment liquid to the fabric, the treatment liquid containing a coagulant that coagulates an ink composition containing pigment and an overcoat liquid containing resin, attaching a droplet of the ink composition to the fabric, and attaching the overcoat liquid to the fabric, wherein a treatment droplet amount being a weight of the droplet of the treatment liquid is equal to or less than an ink droplet amount being a weight of the droplet of the ink composition.
