Abstract: compositions and methods for estimating the number of cell fusion events that occur in a liquid culture using multiplexed oligonucleotide molecular barcodes and next-generation sequencing are disclosed. a method for quantifying unique cell fusion events, the method comprising: providing a first quantity of cells, wherein each cell of the first quantity of cells comprises an exogenous nucleic acid vector of a first library of exogenous nucleic acid vectors.
