Abstract: a recording device includes a recording section configured to move with respect to transport path and a movement unit configured to move the recording section, wherein a movement region of the recording section includes a first region and a second region farther from the transport path than the first region, the movement unit includes a first movement section configured to move the recording section in the first region and a second movement section configured to move the recording section in the second region, and the first movement section and the second movement section are driven by a common drive source.
