Abstract: the present invention concerns the use of [(2s)-1-(4-{[(3-chloro-4-methoxyphenyl)methyl]amino}-5-{[(pyrimidin-2-yl)methyl]carbamoyl}pyrimidin-2-yl) pyrrolidin-2-yl]methyl 6-(nitrooxy)hexanoate for the treatment of anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. the above compound ameliorates ocular blood flow in the patients and improves visual field and visual acuity.
