Abstract: the present invention lies on the field of synergistic compositions for improving mineral bioaccessibility, in particular iron and/or calcium bioaccessibility. the synergistic compositions comprise lutein, casein phosphopeptide or 1,3-dioleoyl-2-palmitoylglycerol, preferably in combination with a non-digestible carbohydrate. the invention further relates to the use of the compositions in preventing and/or treating mineral deficiency and associated conditions, preferably anaemia.
