Abstract: an aerosol generating device includes a magnet, a sensor and a disabling unit. the magnet is configured to generate a magnetic field. the sensor is coupled to the magnet and configured to sense a value of a magnetic field generated by the magnet. the disabling unit is configured to disable operation of the aerosol generating device, wherein the disabling unit is configured to disable operation of the aerosol generating device in correspondence of a magnetic field value detected by the sensor being below a predetermined magnetic field threshold, wherein the predetermined magnetic field threshold includes a value indicating an intensity of the magnetic field exhibited by the magnet in correspondence of a maximum operating temperature of the magnet, the maximum operating temperature of the magnet indicating a temperature value above which the magnet loses magnetic properties.
