From WikiPatents

POLYMERIZED HEMOGLOBIN SIZE FRACTIONATED VIA TANGENTIAL FLOW FILTRATION WITH LOW AUTO OXIDATION RATES

Abstract: due to a rising demand in the need for organ transplantation and a critical donor organ shortage, the need to fill this gap has increased the use of ecd and donation after cardiac death (dcd) organs viable for transplantation to lower the mortality of patients on the organ waiting list. described herein is a perfusion solution comprising polymerized hemoglobin, wherein the perfusion solution comprises less than 5% by weight low molecular weight hemoglobin species, based on the total weight of the perfusion solution.
