Abstract: there is provided an apparatus comprising at least one processor; and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least: receiving (), from a network node in a radio access network, at least one random access configuration for the apparatus to access to the radio access network, wherein the at least one random access configuration comprises a mapping between a set of synchronization signal blocks and one or more preambles in at least one physical random access channel occasion according to one or more features; determining (), based on at least one of the one or more features, at least one preamble of the one or more preambles in a physical random access channel occasion corresponding to at least one synchronization signal block in the set of synchronization signal blocks; and transmitting (), to the network node, the at least one preamble.
