Abstract: disclosed are various embodiments relating to cloud computing in communications service provider networks. in one embodiment, a message to launch a customer container is received at an edge location of a cloud provider network embedded within a communications service provider network. the message is received from a control plane service of the cloud provider network. the customer container is launched on a computer system of the edge location, where the computer system has capacity for executing customer containers. the edge location communicates with the cloud provider network at least partly via the communications service provider network. the customer container communicates with a mobile device via the communications service provider network.
