Abstract: a mass production ice system for human consumption drinks includes a ice piece and cutting mechanism. the ice piece contains 188 milligrams or less of calcium carbonate and is formed by directionally freezing water from bottom to top using a refrigerant with a minus 30 degree fahrenheit boiling point. a mechanically operated blade containing at least 14 percent chromium and specific carbon content cuts the ice piece into smaller six-sided pieces lacking visible defects. the blade has less than 10 teeth per inch and may include additional features like circular shape, specific tooth dimensions, and nickel content.
