LOW-WIND RIDE-THROUGH OF A WIND TURBINE

Abstract: a method of controlling a wind turbine is provided including a generator system, an energy storage system and auxiliary equipment, the method including, in particular during a low wind condition: controlling the generator system in order to provide power from the generator system to the auxiliary equipment, in particular such that a rotor speed does not decrease; controlling the energy storage system in order to provide power from the energy storage system to the auxiliary equipment, if required to meet a power requirement of the auxiliary equipment; in particular keeping the wind turbine in operation.
