Abstract: systems and methods for producing methanol using syngas, which is a primarily a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, hydrogen and a carbon dioxide by-product that significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions and/or sequestration. the syngas may be produced, for example, by an autothermal reactor, a steam methane reformer, or a gasifier. the hydrogen may be produced by an electrolyzer.
