SELECTIVE ACETYLENE OXIDATION IN GAS MIXTURES

Abstract: a feed stream is contacted with a metal oxide catalyst disposed within a reactor. the feed stream includes a mixture of gases. the mixture of gases includes acetylene. the metal oxide catalyst includes a metal oxide. in response to contacting the feed stream with the metal oxide catalyst, the acetylene of the feed stream is selectively oxidized to produce at least one of carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide. a product stream is discharged from the reactor. the product stream includes the at least one of the carbon monoxide or the carbon dioxide produced.
