Abstract: a seat assembly including a seat bottom including a seat frame and a seat cushion supported by the seat frame. the seat frame includes a first side portion and a second side portion spaced cross-seat from each other and the seat frame includes a seat pan extending from the first side portion to the second side portion. the seat assembly includes a cross-member supported by the seat frame between the seat frame and the seat cushion. the seat assembly includes a lifter extending from the seat frame to the cross-member. the lifter is extendable from a lowered position to a raised position. the cross-member abuts the seat pan when the lifter is in the lowered position. the cross-member is spaced from the seat pan when the lifter is in the raised position.
