Abstract: this disclosure relates to a guide bar for a handheld chainsaw. the guide bar comprises first side plate, a second side plate and a core plate, wherein the core plate is arranged between the first side plate and the second side plate providing the guide bar extending in a guide bar plane along a longitudinal direction. each side plate is provided with a respective opening arrangement, each arrangement comprising at least one elongated opening extending in the longitudinal direction of the guide bar and fully through each side plate. the core plate is provided with an aperture arrangement, comprising a plurality of apertures, each extending fully trough the core plate. each of the at least one elongated opening is provided with a respective plastic insert. the disclosure also relates to a method of manufacturing of a guide bar.
