Abstract: in some implementations, an apparatus including a curved structure having an exterior surface, having an interior surface and having a defect, a device positioned over the exterior surface of the curved structure, a block patch in between the device and the exterior surface of the curved structure, and a plurality of studs and nuts positioned near an outer perimeter of the device, the plurality of the studs being friction welded to the exterior surface of the curved structure.
