Abstract: in various embodiments compositions for the treatment of sexual dysfunction, particularly premature ejaculation, comprise at least one selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (an srri) and a carrier encased in a rapidly disintegrating immediate release capsule shell. in preferred embodiments, the carrier comprises microcrystalline cellulose that functions as both bulk filler and disintegrant. the pe compositions herein are administered in capsule dosage form as needed rather than continuously, thus drastically reducing the risk for long term health issues seen with chronic daily srri regimens.
