Abstract: a prosthetic femoral component includes an articular component and a bone contacting component. the articular component has a convex articular surface and a concave curved inner surface opposite the convex articular surface. the bone contacting component is least partially insertable within the articular component and has an outer side and an inner side opposite the outer side, the outer side having a convex curved surface received on and complementary to the concave curved inner surface of the articular component, and the inner side being defined by a plurality of adjacent planar segments.
