Abstract: a system for curing flowable dental material may include an intraoral scanner configured to capture 3d data, a dental-material-curing light source configured to emit curing light from the probe, a processor, and memory. the memory may include instructions that when executed by the processor cause the system to receive a 3d model of the dentition of the patient from a dental treatment plan, receive scan data of the dentition of the patient, and determine, while receiving the scan data, an area of illumination by the dental-material-curing light source with respect to a dentition of a patient, based on the received scan data.
